What we know about Cov-Sars-2?

"From the evidence so far, COVID-19 can be transmitted in all areas, including those with hot and humid weather, according to the World Health Organization. Similarly, hot baths cannot kill the virus, nor can particularly cold weather.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and a dry cough. It’s less common for people to experience sneezing and a runny nose. There is no suggestion that chest pains or vomiting are associated with the virus. Most common but not unique.

A smaller number of people may experience aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea while others may test positive without being unwell. It is important to follow the outlined precautions and seek medical care early to avoid severe infections.

The World Health Organization recommends an incubation period of 14 days — this is the maximum time it believes it takes between being exposed to the virus and showing symptoms.

Keep yourself and others safe from the virus. When someone coughs or sneezes too close to you, you might breathe in droplets containing the virus. Handwashing with soap or alcohol-based gel helps to kill any viruses on your hands, whilst not touching your face helps to stop the virus entering your body. Finally, using a tissue — and throwing it away immediately — will help stop the virus from spreading.

If you’re healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you’re caring for a person who might be infected. Masks are also only effective if used alongside good hand hygiene — washing your hands frequently with soap and water, or alcohol based gel. If you choose to wear a mask, it’s also important you know how to use and dispose of it properly.

Our health as individuals is only as strong as our weakest healthcare systems. Only by investing in more doctors, nurses, hospitals and healthcare centres can we reduce the risk of viruses like COVID-19 causing harm to us all. However, the risk is particularly high for people living in low-income communities, where a lack of strong healthcare puts more lives at risk.

Tuberculosis causes more deaths globally each day: Every day, over 4,000 people lose their lives to TB, mostly in South-East Asia and Africa. Although coronavirus is a growing global threat, the number of people dying from it daily is currently much lower than from other infectious diseases — many of which are entirely preventable.

About 80% of people who contract the virus recover from it without needing special treatment. Approximately 1 in 6 people who are infected become seriously ill and develop difficulty breathing. Individuals with underlying medical problems such as high blood pressure or heart problems are more likely to develop serious illness.

Vaccines have prevented and even wiped out deadly diseases around the world. Thanks to a global vaccine campaign smallpox was wiped out for good in 1977, and thanks to global vaccination, polio is 99.9% eradicated worldwide. The development of an effective vaccine in time prevented the wider spread of Ebola, and today vaccines are used regularly to protect children and adults from life-threatening diseases including measles, typhoid, yellow fever, and more.

It took over 40 years to develop the polio vaccine. Thanks to improved science and global cooperation, today that timeline is much shorter. In 2017 the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was set up to bring scientists together from around the world to find vaccines at record speed. With CEPI’s help it is estimated we could have a COVID-19 vaccine ready in as little as 12-18 months.

Two out of every five healthcare facilities don’t have clean water and sanitation:
It’s clear that even in many wealthy countries, health workers are lacking the masks, tests, and clothing to protect themselves — but more than 2 billion people worldwide are served by healthcare facilities that lack even clean water and sanitation. In these situations it is impossible for communities to follow the World Health Organization guidelines that keep so many of us safe.

900 Million people are at risk of catching coronavirus in the world’s poorest countries if no action is taken: Governments across the world are preparing for the worst, but in low income countries the risks from the pandemic are particularly high. A lack of access to good sanitation and weak healthcare systems mean hospitals are likely to quickly become overburdened and unable to treat rising numbers of cases. In many low income countries there are just a handful of intensive care beds for a population of millions. If nothing is done to help, millions will be at risk.

42000 refugees currently live on Refugee camps on the Greek islands wich are designed to house up to 6000 people. Refugee camps across the world are at high risk from coronavirus outbreaks, and very few more so than the Greek island camps in Europe. In these drastically overcrowded camps families share tents, one toilet is shared by over 100 people and single water taps serve 1300 people each. This extreme lack of sanitation combined with a lack of medical support is putting refugees seeking safety at huge risk.

Some children — particularly girls — are likely to drop out of school permanently. By the end of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, girls from highly affected communities were 16% less likely to be in school, with those who were orphaned or pulled into work most affected. If the same dropout rates apply during coronavirus, approximately 10 million more girls will be out of secondary school after the crisis has passed, according to Malala Fund.

More than 320 million children around the world are now missing out on school meals due to school closures because of coronavirus. Many of these children are from poor families and depend on the daily meals they receive at school to stave off hunger and for vital vitamins and micronutrients."
